I always make a database of all possible jobs in the future, and most of the list is online jobs. There are really lots of career opportunities in the web, and the list is really expanding.

More and more people are getting into work at home jobs. It is a good sign I believe, and I dream that someday all of us would become free of financial trouble.

Lets not be in despair. Hope exists.

Ramona gets it and so does Lee - it's about relationships. People help people get jobs.

A headhunter will only see you as Mr. or Ms. Right if you're a match for the open requisitions they've been handed by their client - the company with a need. Otherwise, you're probably a footnote for the future.

Many recruiters can't slow down today because companies aren't giving them retainers as much as they used to. That money financed the search. Now my recruiter friends get a small amount up front and the majority of their money at the back end...and what they ultimately net is smaller.

Well for one thing I can tell you that just talking to Elizabeth and listening to her recorded messages have uplifted my spirit over this past year. She is a unique and wonderful human who wants more than anything to help others, and going out of her way to do whatever she can.
From her own Links pages where she supports people in what they do to the supportive tweets. A day without her shining energy in my stream is like a day without sunshine
I have never been out of work, I am a very grateful person to have found my true calling and to have worked myself into a position that I can never loose, especially in these trying times it shows me more and more how grateful I am.
Elizabeth listens, and is honest and open and this seems like a fabulous way for her to help even more people.
Thanks for all you do

I would love to see your example of a powerful, ultra professional cover letter, is it possible? I am such a visual person, that an example really helps.
thanks in advance for your assistance!

I just came across this great website called www.jobtac.com
Jobtac allows job seekers to create application packages that include resumes, videos, portfolios and references which can be used to search and apply to jobs.
Online ATS platform lets employers/recruiters interact, rank, manage candidates along with posting jobs.

Kudo's for you Ken! Not only did you spend some great time with your son, you got to advertise for AC/DC (which I have seen too - AWESOME), you got to sneak a snack (yes?), but you got to meet some new people! WONDERFUL and thanks for sharing! I enjoy reading these types of blogs as I search for my ideal job!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ken,

Sorry to hear about your "pink slip" situation ... a little temp work might lead to different thinking -- and seeing new opportunities (you never know who you meet!).

BTW -- A little blogging and my syndicated column about you and your link to the value of a college degree (http://bit.ly/RPsEf and http://bit.ly/1V0a0r) might lead to other, more steady work. :-)

-- Dan Bobinski

PS. I'm betting your son LOVED you "participating" at the concessions!
