UAW Wakes Up!

In a previous post, “UAW Not Part of The Problem or the Solution” I subtly suggested that the union leaders may want to proactively work with the big 3 automakers to help them keep their doors open.  This was in response to UAW Ron Gettelfinger’s statement two weeks ago where he said that the state of the industry was not because of union contracts but because of the slumping economy.  His statement seemed very short sighted and it appears as though today, he hs recognized that fact and has announced the unions willingness to renegotiate labor terms and other thins in an effort to help the struggling Detroit Three automakers.

It’s good to know that even union leaders can see past the end of their noses occasionally!
